Original Email sent to The Guinness Book of World Records:
Dear Sir,
I am attaching a letter (please see below) I wrote to Wyeth Consumer Healthcare (makers of Preparation H Hemorrhoid Cream.)
I believe this letter holds the record for the most misspellings of the word "hemorrhoid" There are 9 different misspellings of "hemorrhoid." You have to agree there has been no other letter written in history that could have as many misspellings of "hemorrhoid" than the one I wrote.
Can this New World record be included in the next edition of the Guinness Book of World Records?
Peter Lefabre

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been using Preparation H to get rid of my hemmeroids for many years now. I started having hemmarhoids in 1993 and the hemoroids became more and more painful.
As we all know, hemmarhoides can be a embarrassing problem. Hemmhoroids seem to run in our family as all my brothers and sisters have hemorhoids (except my youngest brother Lyle who is adopted). Thanks for creating such a great product!
My question is will you be coming out with new hemarrhoid cures or hemmahroid prevention products in the near future? Also, I have heard you can use hemharrhoid cream to reduce bags under your eyes. Is this true?

Response from The Guinness Book of World Records:
Thank you for registering your record attempt with Guinness World Records.
One of our representatives will contact you within the next 4-6 weeks with a decision on your record request.
If your suggested record is approved, we will get back to you with rules and regulations so that you may attempt your proposed record. If you have already attempted a record, and we are interested in your submission, we may ask for the documentation needed to verify the record.
Should your record proposal/attempt be unsuccessful, we will send you a detailed reason outlining our decision.
Our online tracking service (available soon) enables you to track the progress of your record claim through the Guinness World Records website. You will need your membership number and password to access this service - these will be sent to you once the service is activated.
Thank you for contacting Guinness World Records. Good luck!

Second Response from The Guinness Book of World Records:
Dear Mr Lefabre

Thank you for sending us the details of your recent record proposal for 'Most Mispellings'. We are afraid to say that we are unable to accept this as a Guinness World Record.

We receive over 60,000 enquiries a year from which a small proportion are approved by our experienced researchers to establish new categories. These are not 'made up' to suit an individual proposal, but rather 'evolve' as a result of international competition in a field, which naturally accommodates superlatives of the sort that we are interested in. We think you will appreciate that we are bound to favor those that reflect the greatest interest.

We appreciate that this may be disappointing to you. We are always keen to hear from people who wish to set a Guinness World Record. If you should need any advice regarding record breaking in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us, quoting the above membership number.

Once again thank you for your interest in Guinness World Records.

Yours sincerely,

Laura Baker
